Methodology
Eight times a year the Federal Reserve publishes the Beige Book, a summary of anecdotal reports from each of its twelve district banks. Each edition here scores one Beige Book into prospects for the eleven GICS sectors.
How a release is scored
Each district’s report is scored −2 (strong contraction) to +2 (strong expansion) for each GICS sector, on current conditions and, where contacts give one, on their outlook. District scores are weighted by the district’s share of that sector’s activity.
The Prospect Score
The Prospect Score blends current conditions (25%), district outlooks (35%), momentum against the two prior releases (20%), a sector-specific macro tilt from the National Summary (10%) and margin pressure (10%). Signals run from Unfavorable to Favorable.
Editions and dates
An edition is named for the Beige Book’s cover date. Its release date and the date its information runs through are shown on each edition. The archive covers 238 releases, from January 1997 to October 2026, and every edition links to the Fed’s original PDF.
Limits
The Beige Book describes regional activity, not earnings or valuations. Weights and sensitivities are illustrative.
